A Week with Grandpa in Chile

Our day downtown up on Cerro San Cristobal, which should let you see the metropolitan region, but what we really saw was...WE NEED RAIN!!!
Having a soda stop on top of the hill.  Here Jonathan explained that years ago, the Protestants where buried on the backside of this great hill, because they were not permitted in the Catholic cemeteries here in Chile.

On the backside of the Moneda, the government palace in downtown Santiago.  The day was gorgeous!

Grandpa with the life group that meets at my home on Monday nights.  He shared some stories about me and about Jesus.

I took him on Thursday to our favorite Chilean food in Maipu, los Hornitos de Portales, where he ate the famous corn pie of Chile, called "pastel de choclo."  It was delicious and was the special of the day!

We visited Tia Paty and her family, the family I lived with in Tacna, PerĂº.  They are here in Chile, as Tia Paty is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.

In Valparaiso, with Christopher Colombus.

On Saturday, we finally got to spend time with Marisol, Jonathan's mother.  She came over for lunch.  We laughed a lot.

Saying goodbye in the airport on Saturday evening.
